Ancient Egyptians

What was it like to live in the times of the Ancient Egyptians? Step into your time machines and travel back 5000 years to the country of Egypt. Here we will find out all about the River Nile, the Pharaohs and how the Ancient Egyptian civilization lived.

Amazing Amazon

One of our favourite topics in Year 3 is the Amazing Amazon. We learn about the Amazon Rainforest, the different species that live there and how they rely on each other to survive. I wonder how many facts you can memorise to tell Mr Connolly?

Romans

Find out why the Romans decided to invade Britain and how their empire grew. From Roman baths, to Roman soldiers, to gladiators at the Colosseum, this is an exciting but gruesome topic! And I bet you will be amazed at how many of their inventions are still around today.

Italy

There are so many different reasons why Italy is a special country, from its history, major cities and even volcanoes! Creating a tourist leaflet, I’m sure we could convince almost anyone to take a trip there.

Prehistoric Britain

With a focus on hunter gathers, the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, we take a look at when the first humans arrived and settled in Britain.

Castleton Residential

In Year 3, the children go on their first school residential to Castleton Youth Hostel. With a trip to Treakcliffe Cavern and a jam packed activity schedule, the children learn all about the geography of the Peak District, whilst developing their independence and teamwork skills.

Spring is a busy time in Year 3 as we have our Easter Performance. We perform our play to parents and the rest of the school.

Science

In Science, we have great fun investigating the power of forces, looking at how does your garden grow, exploring rocks and soils, questioning how we see and finding out about amazing bodies.
