Office Administrator
Advert for a Part-time Permanent Administration Officer at Loxley Primary School
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and well-organised person with suitable experience or similar transferrable skills to become a part-time administration officer at Loxley Primary School. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality support to the school and undertake general office duties and tasks. You will need to possess a good knowledge of office procedures and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should have the ability to work effectively, sometimes under pressure, both as part of the whole school’s staff team and independently. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they can work collaboratively on whole school goals following the school and trust’s ethos and policies, taking direction from the school’s leadership team as appropriate.
Duties include; answering and directing incoming calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, dealing with face to face enquiries and welcoming visitors. You will be required to provide routine administrative support including, the use of standard and bespoke office software, filing, faxing, emails, data input and correspondence. You will need to maintain manual and computerised records and undertake financial administration. Applicants should possess excellent I.T. skills and be confident in the use of Microsoft Office and online payment software applications. A working knowledge of SIMS would be advantageous but is not essential.
We can offer the successful candidate, a pleasant working environment, a friendly and supportive staff team to work alongside and co-operation from an existing administration officer who will work during the other part of the working week.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment, so therefore the successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. (previously CRB check). The successful candidate should have a good understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and financial probity.
Working hours are 16 per week: 8:00am – 4:30pm Thursday and Fridays, (with a 30 minute lunch break) 39 weeks per year.
